『고립』은 현대 사회 속에서 개인이 감정을 조율하며 살아가는 방식을 시각적으로 표현한 작품이다. 화면 위에 반복되는 둥글고 부드러운 붓터치들은, 우리가 일상 속에서 감정을 정제하고 반복적으로 다듬어 내보내는 사회적 구조를 상징한다. 그 속에는 스스로 수용하고 조율한 감정들만이 남고, 다듬어지지 않은 감정은 점차 조용히 침잠한다.
작품 위에 나타난 흰색에서 파란색으로 이어지는 점들은 감정의 스펙트럼을 시각화한다. 흰색에 가까운 점은 정제되지 않은 날것의 감정, 가공되지 않은 내면의 진심이다. 반면, 파란색으로 갈수록 감정은 사회적으로 허용 가능한 방식으로 구조화되고, 점차 정제된 표현으로 변해간다.

Solitude is a visual meditation on how individuals learn to regulate their emotions while living within a collective.
Soft, rounded brushstrokes repeat across the canvas, echoing the quiet rhythm of conformity. This repetition reflects how emotional expression is gradually filtered, refined, and reshaped through daily life. With time, only the emotions deemed acceptable rise to the surface, while the rest — left raw and unresolved — quietly settle below.
A gradient of dots, shifting from white to blue, maps an emotional spectrum. The palest dots speak to feelings that are pure and unprocessed — honest, impulsive, and unguarded. As the color deepens, so does the presence of external influence. Emotions become more structured, more palatable, more easily received.
This transition is not one of suppression, but of subtle and continuous choice. Each person becomes a quiet curator of their inner world, deciding — often without knowing — what to soften, what to reshape, and what to carry, silently.
Though they appear blended together, each emotional presence in this piece holds its own quiet solitude — intimate, singular, and deeply human. We learn to temper our truths, to move gently among others, to share space in calm. And yet, within that quiet, each person remains distinct, enclosed by their own rhythm of being.
Near the bottom of the composition, one solitary dot breaks away. It becomes a metaphor for the feeling that does not conform — too tender, too transparent, too sincere to be absorbed.
